Overview
Foreplayers operates the Dormie mobile app and the foreplayers.org website (together, the “Service”). The Service is an invite-only record of an annual golf trip among friends. We try to collect as little as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and what we don’t.
No accounts, no contact info
Dormie has no sign-in. We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, or any personally identifying contact information. The website foreplayers.org is read-only and does the same.
What we do collect
- Tournament data you enter — short golfer display names (initials or first names like “NV” or “Brad”), team names, hole-by-hole scores, and match results. Entered by the trip organizer for record-keeping.
- Standard server logs — when the app or website talks to our backend, our infrastructure (AWS) records the request URL, timestamp, response status, and the requesting IP address for a short period for security and debugging. We don’t use these logs for analytics or marketing.
- Crash and update diagnostics — the mobile app uses Expo’s standard build and over-the-air update tooling. Expo may receive an anonymous update channel identifier and basic device/OS information so the right build can be delivered, and may receive crash reports if the app crashes. We don’t add any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs on top of this.
What we don't collect or do
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Sentry, Mixpanel, etc.).
- No location tracking. No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
Service providers
We rely on two infrastructure providers to run the Service. They process data on our behalf, only to deliver the Service:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts the API and database in the US East (N. Virginia) region. Tournament data and server logs live here.
- Expo — used to build the mobile app and deliver over-the-air updates. May receive anonymous device and crash diagnostics as described above.
How long we keep data
Tournament data is kept indefinitely so the friend group has a record of past trips. Server logs are typically kept for a few weeks to a few months and then rotated out. You can ask us to delete tournament entries that mention you (see “Your choices” below).
Children
The Service is intended for adults participating in or following the trip. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
Because we don’t collect contact information, the simplest way to exercise any choice — including asking us to remove your display name or scores from past records — is to email us at nick@foxlogic.dev.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will also be noted in the Dormie app on next launch.
